Remember that your speeches will be about an educational issue, health issue, social issue, or an economic issue. These issues may or may not involve personal, public, or political class discussions.
The following speech outline example is meant to be informative because it is an example of one way to pack for a trip, and it is not meant to be persuasive--I do not know if it is wise if everyone packed this way. This example has visual aids that involve clothing and personal items. The example may apply to our health because it involves packing light (rather than with heavy suitcases). It may also involve economic issues because it involves packing in an inexpensive way rather than worrying about spending a lot of money on big suitcases or expensive items.
The following example is meant to be persuasive since I do want everyone to stop eating the junk food that is sold to us and be in charge of eating your own healthy diet. Since what we eat is contributing to our illnesses, I advocate a healthy vegetarian diet. This example has visual aids that involve videos and food packaging items.
Here are two other persuasive speech outlines that I may present in class as examples:
Compromise and culture clash example
The above speech outline examples are not meant to be perfect outlines. They are meant to start a discussion in class about several issues. However, you may use the outlines as examples to help you create your speeches.
Your sources for your speeches will be discussed with me in class and will be revealed in your typed outlines. I will also "see" your sources throughout your speech through websites, videos, books, etc.
