Journal essay issues regarding James  Ameen's  SCC interpersonal class.

1. There will be one journal essay due during the semester worth 100 possible points. If you do not do the paper, or do not do it correctly, you will receive zero points on the paper. (If you hand it in on time, and it is done incorrectly, you may fix the paper. Please see the schedule link for this class regarding when your assignments are due.)

2. Look at my journal essay example if you want to see how I integrate class theories and skills with video examples.

My example is much shorter than your journal will be. I am just giving a short example since it may or may not be helpful regarding the writing of your personal journal. Also, I want to encourage your creative writing rather than promote my writing.

Here is the link for the example:   Journal essay example

3. Therefore, you will take a theory or skill (or more than one theory or skill) from the quiz study guide and elaborate on how that theory or skill works in your life. You will also have to apply the paper to one of the videos shown in class, or a video on my video list. You may also use other videos if I have seen it and approve it for your journal essay. The idea is to be creative and original with this project rather than just explaining the theory or skill over again.

4. Your journal essay needs to be written properly. You need to have an appropriate introduction (preview), body (narrative) and conclusion (summary, and value or importance of the paper). You need to have clear paragraph structures for me to be able to understand and grade the paper. (A paper with one long paragraph will not be read.)

5. You also need to type the paper correctly. You have to use Times New Roman, 10, 11, or 12 point font size (black, clear ink!). The paper must be  more than  two complete pages or longer (or I will tell you to make it longer). There must be one inch margins on each side. Begin the paper on the second line after your name. You may have a short title if you wish, but it is not necessary.
